Cross Stitch Journal is the best app for tracking your cross stitch projects from start to finish. When you find a design that you would like to stitch, create a project in the Wishlist. From there the project can be moved from the Wishlist through the Have Chart, Ready to Start, Started, and Finished stages as you collect supplies and stitch your project. The list of Finished projects can be used to documents all your stitching accomplishments.

- Previous data tracked using the Cross Stitch Journal spreadsheet can be imported into the app.

- Added calendar sync. Turn on "Sync Sessions to Calendar" in Settings to add an event for each finished stitching session. You can choose which calendar to use, \
backfill past sessions, or remove synced events if you turn sync off.
- Timed sessions with pauses create a separate calendar event for each stretch of stitching, so pauses are not counted as stitching time on your calendar.
- If the calendar you selected is deleted, new sessions go to the Cross Stitch Journal calendar and an alert explains what happened. Sync problems show a readable message.
- Backups now save on this device when iCloud Drive isn't available, and move to iCloud automatically once you sign in.
- The Apple Watch app can show an orange "Sync delayed" notice when recent changes haven't reached iCloud yet.
- While the Apple Watch app is downloading your journal from iCloud for the first time, it shows a spinner with live project and log counts instead of an empty \
"No started projects" screen.
- Updated the app icon with Liquid Glass on iOS 26, on iPhone and Apple Watch.

Bug Fixes
- Stopping a session while it is paused now ends that pause. Resuming from Apple Watch or Siri resumes the current pause, not an older one.
- If the local journal file cannot be opened, the app shows a recovery screen instead of crashing. Resetting the local copy lets iCloud download your journal again.
- "Create Another Supply" now keeps the project and type after save, so the next item is not saved unassigned.
- When adding supplies that aren't tied to a project, "Need" now defaults to 0.
